De Tour Village watches the freighters turn out of the St. Marys River at the eastern tip of the Upper Peninsula. Ocqueoc Falls is the one to plan around, a third of a mile of walking to a Lower Peninsula waterfall where swimming is allowed and dogs can come along. The drive there runs longer than the map suggests because open water lies between. Saint Marys Falls churns up the river at the Soo, and Mississagi Falls is a drive-up standing all of three feet tall.
